Forney Pass-Through Finance Program

Project Information
Pate Transportation Partners, LP. was awarded the contract for design and engineering of the road improvement projects on FM-741, FM-740, and the US 80/FM 548 interchange to address the growing needs of the City of Forney. The approved TxDOT pass-through toll program will allow for these proejcts to be completed in an estimated five to six year period.

US
80/FM 548

Interchange - While closing

FM-548 for a period of

several months would

expedite the project, the

enormous negative impact

on traffic flow made this a

lesser option. Instead,

approval was obtained

from TxDOT to divert

traffic from one of the
US

80 bridge decks to the

other so one deck will

remain in service with two-

way traffic for an extended

period of time. Once a new

bridge deck is complete,

the two-way traffic will

divert to allow the

remaining deck to be

completed.

FM 740 (Pinson North)

Initial construction will

begin with the temporary

widening of existing

pavement on one side and

construction of both lanes

of the new pavement the

entire length of the project

from US 80 to Ridgecrest.

The construction would

then move to the other

side and complete the

remaining two lanes. This

produces the fewest road

closures that service

neighborhoods and

prevents diversions of

large volumes of traffic

through neighborhoods.

        FM 741 (College)
This project will be constructed in a similar manner to FM-740 with two lane construction for the entire length on each side. This will result in a divided roadway for the majority of the project. However, the biggest traffic diversion will be for the construction of the bridge required across Mustang Creek just east of Claybon
